silence is a home
for the soul
a cabin
on a mountain
gathered in the palm
of natures symphony
simple
a day in the city
is a carousel
conversations swirling
taxis horns cursing, hurry!
poison
hot-dogs
funnel cakes
cigarette smoke
fill each breath
the electricity, the hustle
pounds like percussion
demanding, march!
miles away from silence
we starve and grieve
the anguish remains
until we walk the path
back to our cabin
light a fire
just to watch it burn
