Contemplation of thoughts running silent in my mind,
to wonder just what the new day will bring.
And here I sit to ponder what it is I might find,
with haunting memories of the past beckoning my freedom ring.

I look to horizons, watching life's ship sail on by,
knowing I have got to take that faithful leap.
Time to face the challenge with open pride
for no beauty is ever found within a heap.

And so I'll bounce with courage to set myself free
as I take that plunge out to the open sea.

    100th Hood-Wink Celebrations!

I can't understand why you haven't got any comments on this fine poem...A beautifully composed piece, you certainly have a gift at painting an amazing picture with words...I totally admire your writing and expected something unique from you, and this is...I love the metaphors, and particularly enjoyed stanza #2, your thoughts compliment the inspiring picture of the contest

Engaging, nice rhyme and a joy to read
