Steady stream of water
washes over us
purifying us of the sin
we will commit
when the car door slams
and the brake lights flash
and the tires weep
seconds after we whisper words of love
and eternity
in the trap of time
I take to cherish and hold
every teardrop
and in my empty apartment
or your busy weekend home
we will squint at the same celestial objects
at slightly different angles
with the seconds running out
in this joke of a photo finish
we cling to each other's skin
melting under the warmth
of the last shower
don't mind my dramatic displays
of undying
misplaced affection
cry on me
