Man of my dreams with the sadistic glare
clenched fist and midnight hair
Man of my dreams it is you I fear
your cold heart, does it even care?
Man of my dreams, eyes full of rage
I am your prisoner, you are my cage
Man of my dreams you have the stage
fingers trembling as I write this page
Man of my dreams why must you haunt me so
with each breath my anticipation will grow
Man of my dreams killing me slow
I follow you, head bowed, where ever you may go
Man of my dreams I lay here so still
the hour is upon me, I know you will
Man of my dreams, you have a destiny to fulfill
up my spine I feel a terrible chill
Man of my dreams what have you left to take?
my life and sanity are at stake
Man of my dreams, change of plans, for I will not break
your time is up and I am awake...

This is a powerfully spoken poem. To break free from such a relationship is hard to do, so strong the hold by someone like that.
If this is a personal poem, I admire YOUR strength to cut the ties.
The last line says it all. An excellent poem with a great message
