"Good morning Mr. Albatross"
"Good morning Mr. Eel"
"I've had a thought", the bird conversed, "on how to make the wheel"
"But silly bird", replied the eel," have you not a book?"
"Pardon?", simply cried the bird with quite a burning look
"The human kind have made the wheel quite some time ago...
and with their wheels on automobiles have made their boundaries grow"
"I have not the slightest care, for things not in the sky"
"Well why not care for all of those who have not wings to fly?"
The Bird he smirked, as all all birds can " And those down in the sea?"
The eel he grimaced like an eel "do you not have love for me?"
"Love you? Love you?" the bird cooed like an owl
"As if that were so dense a thought" The eel hissed with a scowl
"The world of Eels, the world of man, I simply do not care"
"And why is that?" The eel conversed "They also own the air"
Albatross with a puzzled look said "The birds, we own the sky"
The Eel he made an eelish smile "An Eel would never lie...
For in the air are metal birds, and from the ground below
the smoke from metal steeples rises up like ashy snow
So in the air you are not god, but rather just a pawn
And if down below you dare not go, then pray you soon be gone"
The Albatross flapped his feathered wings with quite a feathered fuss
"It seems to me,friend of the sea, they'll be the end of us"
The two were silent for some time, and sat with voices ill
While the deadly pang of days to come was haunting ever still

i did feel it was less of a poem and more speech
but it worked for what you wanted to get across. -
