My Autumn Girl

Missing image

Red leaves are about you today.
Light chestnut encircles your eyes.
Green voices descend from the blue.
They dance while honeyed in play.
For the world quite rejoices your prize,
sallows bronzed where boulders strew.

Old is this wise song,
apt still its tune.
Never regret it:
your work hard and long
with pride opportune.
Never forget it.

Red leaves are about you today.
Smile wherever you walk.
Green voices descend from the blue.
They dance while honeyed in play.
Laugh whenever you talk ...

for that's how I'm thinking of you.

The colors! How lovely. She brings so many colors to life for me, in her writing. The swirling around her...very lovely.
Thank you for this beautiful tribute, and I wish you all the best,
    jin

    My

A wonderful , soft and mellow piece of poetry. Perhaps I should have stayed in school. For to be able write like this would have made me smile.

I was distracted by the large font pushing line breaks around, and the horizontal lines, what for? These are superficial and idiosyncratic complaints.

The poem is gently laudatory, her beauty is natural but her accomplishments are due to her talent and hard work. The fondness of the last two lines is lovely.

How did you know autumn is my favorite time of
the year? I miss it so living here in Florida.
This is a carefree dance of colour and it truly
does make me smile. In appreciation always, Blue
