Domestic Plurality, Feral Singularity

Blind spontaneity
Crafted from intimacy

Passion’s wildness
Found in feral clutches

A tearing of the inner soul

Silent screams
Of genuineness dying to be whispered tenderly

Silken embraces
Of a lover’s caress

Received in a willing heart

Basic demands
Coated in preconceived ideas of emotion

Newfound truths
Giving life to the lie

Of mundane triviality

Celestial awareness,
Priceless like diamonds

Newly conceived innocence,
Rare as ivory

These two innocent children of Love

Refining each into a union
Of consensual self-sacrifice

Nurturing long awaited dreams
Into a genesis of reality

Cloaked in strength, bathed in fragility

Plurality becomes singularity

Author notes

We, real life father and son, spoke this weekend of relationships and spirituality.

Nearing 40, Silent Hawk shared of his life before and since the presence of another. Dragon of the West, 20 years his junior, spoke openly in return. Together, we choose to look at love with another as something valuable enough to look beyond the ordinary, to strive for the impossible. What you see above in this offering speaks of each of our individual spirits as we pondered the one who walks closest to us in relationship. Some would call us fools, others hopeless romantics. We believe that we are two genuine men.

Your work shows maturity, if i was to be really annoying i'd point out that you have comas in some places but not others where you perhaps need them.

But it's a good thing i'm not being annoying so i wont point it out. Really good work. I look forwards to reading more

    • Well, that's why being a poet is so freeing. Poetry allows for that kind of creative freedom, including using my comas however I see fit

Of course, to each their own. Thanks for looking at this poem for me!

this was a very good piece, and it speaks volumes. The words flowed well, and created a kinda... tingly feeling.

I'm glad u got time to talk with your dad, and be so open with one another.

    keep up the good work
    Love, Lila xoxo
