i take another step
from the headlights of your eyes
blinding me, burning into my soul
and if i could turn back
i would melt under your gaze
and words would break again
brittle, fragile between us
another step
and i know i am finally free.
there is something about blue skies
mingled with rain drops that’s better
than a goodbye
the rush of a missed 6 o’ clock bus
within a Monday working crowd
where you fit in right
and you don’t even have to try
this time.
there’s something about a song
that forever plays in your head
& there’s something about love
i know i won’t miss when i’m gone
without you.
Author notes
`Beauty in Walking Away by Maria Digby
There's an answer in the sound of a train
There is wisdom past the bridge on the bay
There's a lifetime through the fog, in the rain
There's a beauty in walking away
option two (:
guess who.

This is such a lovely take on the prompt itself... Very sad piece to complement the thought here. Well spoken throughout; I especially enjoyed these lines:
"and if i could turn back
i would melt under your gaze
and words would break again
brittle, fragile between us"
.. excellent write my dear!!!

hmm

love is something. wow dude, this is really impressive i gotta say. i mean, your descriptions, as always blew me away. your metaphors, as always stunned me. okay, you're a brilliant writer. i love this poem because it had a tinge of sorrow, a little bit of happiness, and a teensy weensy bit of every emotion. you are able to weave it all into a masterpiece so perfectly. (ooh, and is there a weh heh hey you've been eyeing on in the monday bus you hvent told me about? SPILL IT... i want every detail) well, i'm sure i know you're gonna get something biiiig! so, keep the faith alove, all the best in the contest, and you rock! love ya hon.

CHARUU!! I LOVED THIS

"there is something about blue skies
mingled with rain drops that’s better
than a goodbye"
you amazed me once again hon
this lyrics meant a lot to me, and you just did great with it~
this poem assured me that love didn't need to be like the movies, where everything's so exxagerated. it can happen to a plain jane, in a "Monday working crowd"
love it!

wow!

The imagery is beautiful and the repition of :there's something" puts the poem into perspective.
The storyline is good and I like how there is hope towards the end
"& there’s something about love
i know i won’t miss when i’m gone
without you."
such perfect lines.
good luck yea I joined too XD
