Barely sixteen with a life before
me, fortune, fame beckoning calls.
Bright light city, 'worlds my oyster' but
I just want to kick a ball. Stagesruck,
bashful, physically sick can't even
get my laces to stick.
Behind the rainbow, I'm safe and sound
feet firmly fixed, on solid ground.
But to step ahead, out from beyond
shrinks so small in biggest pond.

Dear Friend: You've caught a position that I think many people are in at the age. What a beautiful reflection, dear poet!
Thank you for entering, and good luck! -
