My Singing Star

The night was clad in an ebony cloak,
speckled in radiant stars,
each one burning brightly,
singing their own twinkling song.

The brightest star,
the loudest star,
came down upon the earth,
followed by streaking trail of fire

I caught it in my hands,
enveloped it in my embrace,
So strong yet so precious,
I held it close to my beating heart

It danced along my finger tips,
frolicking upon my skin
I think I heard a twinkling laugh,
like the chiming of little bells

The scintillate star of radiance,
of all hues existing,
With an aura of great importance,
yet as innocent as a child

It changed colors,
never one the same,
sometimes violet, blue, or green
and crimson, like the fire

I caraessed in my arms
and lovingly kissed it farewell
Then I set it free, a wild beauty
returning into the tangled night

From my window sill I watch
As it sang one starry night,
it glanced at me and giggled
My star is still burning bright

In the second stanza, the last line is a nice thought... that goes off into nowhere. "Its streaking tail of fire..." what about the tail? In the third stanza, enveloped in caress doesn't make sense, if you look caress up. Maybe caresses? But the poem is really sweat and peaceful and beautiful and calming and dream-like and so much more... one of your best writes!

I really admire the dream-like quality of this piece. It is soft and beauty; romantic and easy to fall into. The background only adds to that feeling of being whisked away. Lovely.
