She Broke Free

Missing image

she broke free

burdens take flight to a new destination,
  replaced with relief and renewal

vivid memories of crimson asphyxiation,
her passions suppressed by a monochrome lover

those days are now behind

when she finally had the strength,

she broke free
violently
beautifully

Beautifully done! I loved your use of color in this. Crimson, monochrome they fit so well into the poem. Your last stanza finishes off your poems so well!

PS.... I would also like to say how wonderful it is that you commented on every other poem in the contest. I have hosted over 360 contests and It is so rare that I see that and I find it so lovely that you would take the time to do that..
