Mistress of Night's Fancy

Missing image

*

Mistress
of night's fancy
illuminate my dreams
Awaken fantasies of youth
forgotten in my prime
Revive childhood
passions
trampled by life's
constant forward motion
Rekindle desires once thought
lost in time's progression
May they ascend
once more
from ashen ground
embracing morning's light
renewing their former splendor
Upon your gentle wings
may they arise
above
overcast clouds
Resplendant vibrant hues
against contrasting shades of gray
May they live once again
in my mind's eye
Oh please
a mere splinter
would be such a delight
Grant me this simple youthful wish
so my adult life may seem
slightly less than
mundane

    Hello Tim

Such Art you have gifted us with.....in message, as well as Form....pretty as all get-out

*Rekindle desires once thought*  I get 7 mentally, but my counter... http://www.wordscount.info/hw/syllable.jsp

     says 8....however, websters.com... http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/desires

says *desires* is 2 sylls, which make it 7

.....it shall stay as penned and is accepted ~

*mind's eye*....( minds' ).....as you have used this pronoun as a direct noun ~

Ok.....I am in awe of this spectacular entry.....your transitions from one Swir to the next are exactly how a Swirl is created with superb Flow......I have read some very intense and beautiful lines throughout your entire BSwirl.....may you be blessed for your talented quill......good luck & God bless you!

    Bear ~

I think this is a beautiful form, wrote from a heart that see's more to this poem than most would.
You wrote from yourself and that is hard...I see it.

    Love
    ~Lisa~

This poem has the feel of "Old World"
    romanticism, very eloquent and beautiful.
I believe you write this form exceptionally
well, and for all of us 'romantic' dreamers,
this poem will linger through the night...

    Love, Lane
