Brilliance Of The Night

Dried up tears

Fading Fears

I was once lost but now I'm found

To death, I'm no more bound.

Trusting you

Tasting you

Keeps me alive

Alive and strong

To you I owe,

This unknown feeling that I feel tonight.

I thank the night for capturing you

You'll always be mine

Because you now dwell in my home

My safe home of the night

Sharp-edged stones

Decayed bones

I was once lost but now I'm found

I'm now on stable ground.

Holding you

Embraced by you

Keeps me alive

Alive and strong

To you I owe,

This enchanting feeling that I feel tonight.

I thank the night for capturing you

You'll always be mine

Because you now dwell in my home

My safe home of the night.

I promise that you're not under a spell

I promise that this isn't hell

This is where you belong

In my home, where I dwell

In the brilliance of the night.

Author notes

My own song Lyrics.

I like this. I like the flow very much and I think the words that you repeat in the poem works well in it. I also think that you use imagery well in this poem. And I also believe that your picture adds a lot to the poem as well. Thanks for entering this contest. Good job

I personally think that this poem has one of the best endings ever. Beautifully written, slow but vivid imagery, this poem has proven the fact that you are indeed, a darn good poet. Good luck in the contest!

    Great job!

Wow! I am always curious when my attention is drawn to song lyrics written by poets here. I read it once and then again and then the third time, and then tried to create a tune of my own and right now I am wondering the tune to "your" song. You have done a fantastic job with this, the chorus lines are wonderful!

    Thanks for sharing.

    Love and light,
    Lencio

    You know

I have always said the music was meant to bring harmony, not misery. Sadly todays music is so sorry. But you have penned a pretty , joyous piece of music that we all can sing to.

Very well done. I love it, its such a nice change from all the rape stories i have been reading this afternoon. To be held tightly and safely by a lover, this is wonderfully written. Thank you so for sharing.
