It’s been a while
since I last had you in my head
it’s been a while
since I last cried over you
The memories have faded
not much to recall
just a dark and dreary feeling
of a once upon a nightmarish dream
When I look back at that time
that you called “you and I”
I see blacks and grays
of long lost days of pain
It’s hard to remember
to think of that time
the happiness that resides within
has pushed most of it aside
Any happy times that may have been
are hard to recall anymore
for all the hard times that you sent me
far outweigh the good
Sitting in sadness, sorrow and pain
those close to death times have gone away
for now I have the one meant for me
and within this heart you will never be

I no longer have such sadness and sorrow. All memories are fading away. And that makes me very happy. Thanks to the love of my life!
