What Will Be in Heaven

There is a library
right next to a beach
filled with books on the subject
of whatever you want them to be about.

There is snow
softer than that time before -
the only time -
that I'd seen it
filled with snow angels
that cradle spirits
waiting to be born.

There is a trash can, near the gates
and Saint Peter gives you a paper
and you write everything bad
you've ever done
and all your sorrows
and all your tears
and it will take years -
except, of course, that doesn't matter,
not up there -
and you throw the papers away.

There is a building
filled with presents -
the things you wanted
but never asked for -
and, in the back
a sign-up sheet
with the names of all the little children
and all the lost people in the world
who need a guardian angel.

There are telescopes
pointing to Earth
so you can watch over the person
you have been assigned to
that appear as stars
in the sky.

And there is a Dream-Maker
that you can step in to
so you can go to that person
in their sleep -
and they will be dreaming
about you
and you can brush off the dirt
and wipe their tears
and heal their wounds -

and then go back
knowing they are safe
like you once were.

A bit of foolishness indeed. Lyrical and whimsical. This poem is the closest to what I wanted that I have seen so far.

Details about Heaven. Foolish or not. It's what I wanted. So, thank you.

    Blessings,

    C

Sometimes foolishness is more real than you think

This is such a cute take on heaven, yet under your jest lies a very real lesson for us to learn. We should take more care of ourselves and our fellow man.
