A little bit of Heaven is here with me today
I'll hold it closely to me until my dying day
It is the true existance of love that I behold
A gift of purest friendship that gives a hand to hold.
It walks through life beside me and shows me where to go
To speak of hidden treasures that leave an inner glow
A bond, a firm foundation to put new hopes upon
That will become my future, a battle truly won.
Within this piece of Heaven an Angel walks with me
He's made me a believer and I will always be
So thankful for his prescence, the will to show me how
His love is everlasting and he is here right now.
As I walk through my front door I call, my friend is there
We sit upon the sofa, we have a day to share
Whilst talking to each other we put the world to rest
The table's laid for dinner, we have an extra guest.
He sits between two lovers and smiles, then nods his head
To give us both his blessing, then sends us both to bed
Our footsteps climb the staircase that leads to heaven's door
Two soul-mates find each other and he can leave once more.

No details about heaven, though this may be a result of assigning heaven to a state of mind.
The traditional rhyme would have been distracting, but your attention to syllabic detail saved it and made it enjoyable. Good eye. -
