We’re all suffering from the Credit Crunch
A round of applause let’s say ‘Thanks a bunch’
To the fat cat city brokers who are out to lunch
Suddenly the whole world’s in a global recession
They say even worse than The Great Depression
Forget the commonly held perception
It’s all just been one great big deception
Lending shed loads of cash to any old Jack
Who's no way to ever pay it back
The banks view each other with utter disgust
Nothing remains, not one ounce of trust
All the savings in our hard earned pension pot
Greedy City bastards have gambled the lot
Day after day the share prices fall
Means soon nothing will be left at all
Avarice has caused this lending crisis
Governments form a plan that’s absolutely priceless
We’ll bail banks out with money meant for Education & Health
So they can instantly re coup their former wealth
Make sure their annual bonuses get paid in full
In my opinion it’s all just a load of bull
Banks will lend it back at an exorbitant rate
Then penalise us all if our repayments are late
Mortgages; be sure that when we need to review them
They’ll charge us an extra 5% to renew them
Of course the banks all sound very enthusiastic
As they happily increase the interest on our plastic
I’ve decided to go to my bank and settle this score
I don’t want a current or savings account anymore
Enough of all this constant fear and dread
From now on I'm keeping my money under my bed!
