The Last Two Survivors of Silver Bow

Desire birthed Aedh
Aedh plunging forth into the night with a whimper
My love, my dear whisper in my ear,
Now nodding off as I find the faggots to feed the fire.

Longing…what could it be,
Other than a burning of sorts?
"Nothing but a mixing of hormones and atrophied adolescence”
Grimly, she retorts.

Dirt collects beneath my nails
After days of wandering upon the slumbering pine
Young Irish blood mixed with ancient Chinese sweat
Savoring the pebble summoning saliva atop my tongue

Winged creatures, I’ve been told are birds
Hang oddly in the breeze
Effortlessly, as free as we wished to feel
Nine days ago, when Silver Bow fell from hands as these…

...human.

.
.
.
THE SUN WON'T SET,
resting dimly on blood soaked horizon
Floating, swollen, on once beating hearts and broken dreams.

Author notes

2) ‘I sat and mused and drank sweet wine’ (William Butler Yeats)

Never tried this style before. Risky I suppose. Guess I'll just have to hope that the time is taken to look closely.

A great read, and I particularly like the dark end of this piece.

'Floating, swollen, on once beating hearts and broken dreams.' is an inspiring line for the future I think.

    Thank you for sharing
