To Stand In Awe Of Such A Freedom

Missing image
This is Autumn,
when love is golden, gasping dream,

mature meadow, wishing maple,
falling seed in mellow steam
of colder, older mountain calling;

stream,
blissful breath,

blue, sweet, breakfast shimmer,
morning melting October moonlight,
filling aspen lap to gladness.

I am song,
north, windy verse found sleeping,

my inner watch
of sensual inspiration,
glowing deeper, quested reaper,
harvesting hole through enraptured sunlight.

There is a truth in total silence,

youthful crack of timeless bell,
wilting petal in clammy wilderness,
awaiting snow to blind with purity,

every inhibition,
those invisible links of lifeless chain,
freezing mane to harnessed wagon.

I have run in untouchable hooves,
this field of leaves,

scattering season;

my gauntlet,
barbed in conventional wire,
until your wind wing drew me higher,

clock wound spring,

then stopped
in ring of last, first hope
through heaven,
healing;

to stand in awe of such a freedom.

    This is rich! The imagery delights the reader in a kaleidoscope of colors and feelings. Beauteous work poet! Your words dance across the tongue and spill from a heart that captures grace with a flavored wind that with gentle sway whips us into submission!

    Congratulations on earning the Silver Chalice. Well deserved!

    Much Love Always ♥

    "There is a truth in total silence"

    Especially if that very profound, seemingly endless silence is there, waiting, wafting between two pairs of eyes, anticipating the next sound, which will ultimately be a gasp. Beautiful, my Friend. Good luck in Lynda's contest, dear Scribe.
