Growing Up

I wanted to find an angel

See a thousand places

I wanted to swim beneath the ocean
And dive into the sky

Wherever it may lie

I wanted to bathe in starlight
Sleep up on the moon

I never found an angel
I was stuck, locked up at home
I only saw a couple places
That everyone's come to know

I never reached the ocean
I only looked up to the sky
My forever quickly faded,
Moving sadly out of sight

I never fixed my heart
I broke it even more
That pathway was a dud,
It took me to my door

The city drowned the stars
