Circling past memories of days gone by
she remembers the moments in time
when her inner soul monsters slipped through
her smiling facade of laughter
Awaken by the cruelty of broken trusts
promises that slipped from his lips
only to spill onto the floor and be swept away
in a tidal wave of manipulation and lies.
Her demons came biting through
his apologies and false regret,
spitting venom and throwing punches.
The first of their many mistakes.
She was broken open,
her evils were exposed and poised,
for attack and for vengeance.
which she found in the company of others.
Her demons let her move through a sea of companions
without compassion for the vague figures
that passed through her life in quick sucession
each one a worse mistake than the one before
But fear gripped her and she held on to her demons
what lied beyond them was unknown
a pain worse than they caused her surely awaited.
and her life moved on in this flurry of demonic mistakes.
