I wish I could beat myself with a hammer
So I could nail down all those things I just can't get
I wish I could drill a hole into myself
To let everyone see inside me
I wish I could saw off some of my thoughts
I wish I could superglue the ones I aught
I need to be broken to be alive or at least to live right
Pull me apart for a much fresher start
Screw back in my brain after it's been cleaned
Purify my heart
Give me legs that walk upright
Pick me up
I wish I could take all of my weak things
Put them in a pan to make a stronger man
The more I take the heat the closer I am to being complete
Pull me apart for a much fresher start
New arms..
New eyes..
Everyone would be surprised and I will tell them why
Jesus Christ, the carpenter, invite him in
He will build a home
Yes, renew all the old

The imagery in this was strong throughout the entire poem, you have a really good piece of work here. I really liked reading it.

I can hear your voice loud and clear.. yearning and it sounds as if you honestly want it.
..Excuse me for being weird.. but I could see this happening in the old school tech labs lol (not in a gory way)- The imagery was that consistant.
A strong portrayal of new beginnings. Solid write.

While I agree that the teachings if Jesus of Nazareth are a fine start, salvation and destiny lie within us all. The new home can only be built if you are willing to put in the labor. Blind faith is just that...blind.

I do agree that faith without works is useless (James 2:20). But I in no way agree that salvation & destiny lie within us all because "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5)
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to human beings by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12) -

That is your viewpoint, and I respect you for that. Not everyone is or wants to be a Christian. Free will is a wonderful thing. I respect you for your belief and faith in what you've been taught and hold sacred. I have works that show other viewpoints.
Peace be with you -

Thank you for your kindness. I understand that not everyone is or wants to be a Christian I also know that being a Christian isn't practicing a religion but rather knowing and having a relationship with God. I'm sure you know that my viewpoint is that there is only one true viewpoint and anything else is of man's very limited wisdom.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18) -

I do appreciate your viewpoint, my viewpoint is a little more encompassing. I will never tell anyone that they are wrong. Even in the construct of Christianity, I do not sit at the right hand of God and therefore have no right to judge others as to thier worthiness in the eyes of said God. Most of us believe Jesus was a great teacher..to bad so many who claim to follow him pay only lip service to his teachings. Hoping not to offend. If you follow the teachings of your faith and FOLLOW them, you will reap the rewards of that faith. I feel that way no matter what your faith happens to be with but one exception..no harm, physical or emotional may be caused to others in the worsip of your chosen faith. Many faiths in many lands justify atrocities in the name of their faith. I am glad that this practice is usually frowned upon these days..we still have those in the evangelical belt who preach hatred in the name of Jesus, Jesus never asked for anyone to be slain in his name.
Peace be with you
p.s. I can quote scripture with you all day long to point out the atrocities committed by mans willful misinterpetation of said scripture. I was a Sunday School teacher. The teachings of Jesus of Nazareth must actually be followed, sinning continually against his teachings and then praying forgiveness to sin again holds no water for me. You must live the life, love thy brother, and truly go out of your way to cause no harm to others. How convenient the do unto others is swept aside to achieve a goal. -

I do agree that countless atrocities have been committed in Jesus name and this is of course the fault of flawed men and not the perfect God. Every person was worth God killing his own son for their sin. So I don't try to devalue people. It is so very true that the majority of professing Christians (mainly in the US) use Christianity selfishly to build themselves up rather than give praise to God which is the whole point of it all.
And Jesus certainly didn't tell anyone to kill someone else but rather be willing to lay down their own life.
I agree that praying forgiveness intending to sin the same way again is bad. Romans 6 says "Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be!"
However, God has given us his word which shows God's standards. So I never intend to judge selfishly but rather look to what God has said on the matter. The Bible commands Christians to spread God's word (which is what most people have a problem with) and to do it so with love. Christians should not seek to hurt others but God's word IS truth and the truth hurts.
"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
Biblically Christians can't correctly show love without sharing the love that God has given to them. So people may get upset or offended that Christians share their faith but in doing so they are following the teachings of their faith and accomplishing the goal of it.
"The Lord is not slow about His promises, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)
I suppose most people see Jesus as a great teacher but only want to take what they want from his teaching and disregard that he said the greatest commandment was to 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' but instead prefer attempting love without God by disregarding loving God and only fixating on the 2nd greatest commandment 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' -

All of us don't believe the whole messiah concept, nor that the ancient hebrew storm god Yaweh is the end all be all of everything. I can respect that you do. Please respect that I don't.

Given the definition of respect I don't see how it is possible to respect a view that I know to be wrong. I can respect you as a person but I have no esteem for a viewpoint that chooses to reject God. You can believe as you wish & I have no point in continuing to carry on about this with you. You are aware of what is out there and have chosen as you wish. I respect your free will to choose but I don't see how or why I should respect what you choose.
