Fun things like my guitar strings,
like ladies on the lawn;
painted ponies, their brass rings,
the queen falls to the pawn.
Checkers, chess, to make a mess,
to clean it up with pride;
all of these things I confess
I love deeply, deep inside.
Fun things, there's a lack of them
there's not much to go around,
lacy satin embroidered hem
on the woman I have found.
Ice cream sticks like building bricks
stacked up to the sky,
a belly full of laughter licks
the teardrops from my eye.
Take the gilded trophy home,
and keep what you have earned;
I'll take fun things, like a palindrome,
(for those who are well learned).
