"Sexy-generian"

She loves to sew,
she loves to create,
she is an artist
we all appreciate.

She writes with compassion,
she writes for fun,
she loves to learn,
her work never done.

To view her creations
is to view her soul,
wearable art, handbags of love,
dolls sweet, lovable and droll.

To know who she is,
to recognize her art,
marks you as one
who is very smart.

Remarkably, on October 15,
a tranformation to be seen
for the artist, the writer,
known as Darlene.

Miraculously, she will shed her image
as the delightful "sexy-genarian"
and adapt all her whiles
to being a septuagenarian!

Thereafter, she may wisely
forget counting years,
instead counting blessings
and all things dear!

Author notes

A visit to her web page,
linked from her AP page
will reveal the variety
of wonders she has created.

(Darlene, I tried to give the candles
a look reminiscent of some of your
fanciful fabric dolls!)

Very nice. We should all be that lucky when we become septuagenerians. Sounds like she has a natural spirit and enjoyment for life so maybe that's not luck but working at being positive.

    Congrats on your HM.

    Full of life

This is fun and happy verse, I love it and so did Darlene. I've been hiding under a rock, I missed the party.

And lucky for us you lifted that rock
and found that your sun is shining!
Of course, virtual parties don't have
any kind of a closing curfew!

Nice to have your words here.

Your dolls are so varied, have so much personality.
I enjoyed your forays into other art forms,
like the carved and painted gourds.

Let me know when you update and add more!

      Candles now on your page.

    Dear M-C, (Ma Cherie,)

Yes, j aime coudre is no-one's fool,
    her poetry's always pretty cool.
I know she's always 'on the go'
because her sis has told me so.

With strong support from hubby Bob
the dolls-for-kids is her main job.
By day and night she still keeps going
while never tiring of her sewing.

But haply, every now and then,
some lines of verse drip from her pen
and she can claim to kith and ken:
"I've made it! Three score years and ten!"

M-C, with such a delightful tribute, you have set all Darlene's candles aglow. I'm sure she will be delighted with your rhyme and your kind words.
Thankyou for entering. Best of luck in the voting.
Applause, love and hugs, Hugh (R.)

Thank you, Dee. I tried to reflect
the personality she shows with both
her words on the page and her
      varried artisitic creations.

I knew right off who this was for...the dolls and stuff was a good hint.

Whats-her-name is right, the candles are cute!

She does write with compassion and is another who is out to make the world better...one Molotov cocktail at a time. Ok, that last part is a lie. But she does take to the soap box on occasion like I do.

A nice tribute. I better get Sir Ima in gear, he hasn't entered yet.
