I am homesick
for a place not my own
yearning for misty morning
of mountain glory
when our feathers touched
reaching for clouds, so close
Sweet Colorado
where suns set in his smile
may I borrow your beauty
to bask in violet shades
lullabies linger in my mind
as carefree breezes
soothe my senses
could you carry me back
upon the love of Angel's wings?
Until then I daydream
of another Season
when I might share your sunset.

This is beautiful and it seems to have two meanings to it. I can see it as being written about Colarado itself and the wonder you experienced, but it could also be taken as being written about a man, in another time and another place..well written and strong metaphor.
