Abandoned

The floor is caving in
There underneath the wall
Pieces of plaster and broken windows
Lay from where they fall

Grass is long and unkempt
Buildings falling in
Old wood warped and bent
Rusty nails ready to pierce the skin

Junk is everywhere
Shoes lying on the stairs
Sitting lonely and forgotten
Just like all my cares

Though it smells bad
And I dare not touch a thing
I can almost see the people
Hear them talk, laugh, sing

There's a couch near the driveway
No glass left in the windows anymore
A surfboard by a shed
Stuffed gorilla in the door

Eroded and decrepit
In the woods, alone
Calming and serene
Almost another home

FUNKY CHICKEN

There's a really cool abandoned house near where I live. I've taken pictures there for my photography class and I don't know why, I just really like it. It is pretty gross, like I wouldn't touch anything there, but it just seems to calm me down and mellow me out.
