Do you want to be my valentine?
Would you like our lives to intertwine?
Then neither wind, nor rain or thunder
Can set the two of us asunder.
Though nature is strong, it's man I fear
That with our love will interfere...
But wait, I am now quite out of line,
For you're not yet my Valentine!
Do you want to be my valentine?
Can I taste you like a vintage wine?
like a seventy sev'n Cabernet
you go to my head and make it sway.
A cabernet's red and fairly dry
And though non of these to you may apply
One thing I can certainly say -
You are full-bodied all the way!
Do you want to be my valentine?
For no one I found is half as fine
I’ve seen women of many a kind -
the bitter ones, the frivolous mind.
But you, have grace, a sweet demeanor;
strong in mind but lovely in manner
One I would take my boss to meet
(For soon, to you, he might loose his seat!)
Do you want to be my valentine?
Will you go out with me to dine?
I'll foot the bill and I'm sure you'll agree,
To kindly pay the waiter's fee
These things we need to sort out early
For I would hate to see you surly
For choosing such a lame Valentine
who bickers after he had his cuisine!
Author notes
An early Valentine's poem. Had a bit of time on my hands and thought I'll try my hand at writing a Valentine message. Hope you like it!

I really like it!its great I think your going to inspire me to write better poems!
-
simplistic, maybe?
interesting. i enjoyed the general focus of the poem, and the format you put it into added to some of the humor. i personally don't like the style (sorry), but I strongly encourage you to continue to write in this form if it works for you. i did really enjoy this poem, though. keep giving out the good stuff!

Well you are quite the romantic, after reading that i want to be your Valentine lol!
Seriously though, it's a fantastic write and a real nice change to read something like this rather than alot of poets who always write about depressing things.
This made me smile, Keep writing, Sarah

Keep it up Brad. This is great follow up to the Santa Claus poem. -
This is an awesome piece. I love the style you wrote in..it reminds me of the classical writers like Frost and Dickinson. Really awesome, I don't see a lot of that nowadays, and I wish I did.
