Just a Chance

Its so hard to forget what we could have done
Letting go of what we haven't
Trying to forget your face when we see each other just about everyday
Trying to forget what we've talked about
But never wanting to give up on everything we can do

Why must life be so cruel?
Letting us meet but never be together
I guess life has a different path for us
We must live as life demands

Being alone
Listening to the wind say your name
As though we should be but never will
Time shall dictate if we should try to be
Only then can we truly understand

Why, oh why, must life be this way
Always seeing someone to be with
But never working out to be with them
So many chances
But to speak out makes me look like a fool

Life just throw a bone this way
So I can at least have a chance

So lets just say this
I want to be with you
You don't want to see who  am
But I wish you would give this pour soul a chance
Because you never know
If the one you seek
Could slip through your fingers
Who knows, the one who slips through your fingers
Could be me
Losing your chance at being happy forever
Or just maybe, the one to follow is the one for you

The soft wind should say what to do
It might just say to give this poor soul a chance
Because in the end, all life is, is just a chance

Don't say its final before it even begins
Just give it a chance
What's the harm in taking a chance
Others had similar chances like you
One had 2000 chances
They figured 2000 ways not to do something
Just to find one way to perfect it

Let time show that chances like this don't happen often
Just give it a chance
this poor soul could use a chance
Just remember its just a chance
And let life roll the dice and we decide after it
its just one little chance
