October's curse is drawing near
The thirty-first, the day I fear,
For I loathe candy and hate kids
With arms outstretched like little squids
Dressed as ghouls and power rangers
Faceless, mindless little strangers
Is it too much to implore
That they do not darken my door?
Lights on or off, it doesn't matter
The doorbell rings and I hear the patter
Hordes of begging little feet
Filling my yard and roaming the street
I retreat into my bed
Put the pillow over my head
More terrified than I can remember...
How much more time until November?
Author notes
I'm not sure what the form was (1-1 2-2 I think it's called). I actually had the idea for this last year but couldn't put the right words together. The inspirations really helped albeit indirectly.

Being a Witch, Halloween is a special time to me, But, I can see the other point of view also I suppose. Very well written and excellent imagery. ~Peace~Gar
