a raccoon chasing silver
shiny and smooth
just out of reach
gnawing myself free
bloody ground surrenders
any hope for survival
hunted without mercy
dieing in agony

this is an interesting write of yours, my friend

Yes that is definitely a cowards way out (not really hunting then, is it?) and the animal suffers. I'm with you that is definitely not right. You did very well in conveying your point in poetic fashion.

well its really kind of two edged. i mean i think its terrible that one would do that but also the bravery and courage of the raccoon to eat through his own leg to set himself free even at the cost of death. and this is the essence of the poem the ability to set oneself free no matter what the pain and cost of it. to not fear anything. so im not so sure if that all was clear but its kinda where i wanted to go with this piece
