me, an individual step outside from society
different, distinct, unique, and a gem
when a kid walks up to me
the world watches to see. . . am i kind or am i cold?
am i compassionate or am i a jackass?
every day, every step
i have to watch both ways to make sure no one trips me up
i have to be strong so they can't point out a wuss
all my life i have to walk the walk
so people don't say i just talk the talk
got to man up so i can prove my dignity, pride, and grace
with every choice the world's against me or with me
the world on my back
nagging, envying
waiting for a time where i'll miss up
and then sock it to me in the face
if you're bad
the world mocks you
and if you're good and all about justice
the world hates you
they hate that if you find out their dirty, filthy secret
you'll expose the truth and the hypocrite they really are
with every life changing choice i make
the world's eyes on me

what do you think? please, don't be too cruel; nobody's perfect.

I'm just not feeling this one. I hear what you're saying, and I agree with it--but there just doesn't seem to be much emotion behind it. Maybe it's just me. I will reread this tomorrow. Sometimes, a night of sleep can change the world.

The poem is terrific and very well expressed. It is very sad though. These people are just parasites, don't let them bother you.
Best of luck in the contest,

Not every one is perfect this is true..I can so relate to what you say in these words. But please don't let that get you down. Don't let them get you down...
