Daylight Dread

Angels dance in the wind whipped night
Tapping on my window in leaf dappled light
Disturbing my dreams but not with fright
The morning is kept at bay.

The nightborn shadows are friends of mine
My only foe this night is time
Pulling me on to mornings rise
To be shaken awake by the day.

You fill my head with the sweetest dreams
That slow the hours and dam time's stream
I'm begging in the mercy of his means
To keep the dawnlight out.

Time ticks a heaven around the stars
I dream on through the weeping hours
Haunted by the scent of flowers
I placed on your resting place.

Emptyness will engulf the day
Please keep reality away
If I knew how perhaps I'd pray
But my heart is tomorrows frost.

I really like the rhyme scheme you have used for this poem, and you've done it very well... The flow is here and there a little bit wobbly though, but nothing bad actually.

Thank you for entering the contest!

this is extremely good, I liked the rhymes, it was kindof devilish, like this is halloween.
