You Invoke In Me

Light-footed and fancy-free,
My thoughts they try to escape from me,
Burdened by many a feeling,
Ardent cracks, my mask revealing,

Dented grains of glass-crack sand,
How long before I join the land?
The soil that moves beneath my feet,
In your heaven’s dark deceit,

Razor-sharp and bitter-cold,
Penance for the soul you sold,
Breathing in such ghastly fumes,
And still the winter rose now blooms,

Creaking violet lies creep through,
And you know there’s nothing left to do,
So hide your eyes beneath your cloak,
So you can’t see the feelings you invoke…

    This is a lovely write that you have here. And I just love the background. Fits this poem very well. You have some rhyming going on here that goes well wit the poem. Not forced sounding at all.
