Stand up for yourself, for Gods sake,
you run while others stay
like a leaf that falls in winter
or a daydream blown away.
Are you a poet or a blow it ?
As you hide behind your keys
do written words defeat you ?
You should do just as you please.
Stand up for who you really are
are you lion are you mouse ?
Do you flee from unknown monsters
as they sneak into your house.
The screen that sits before you
is yours and your alone
so vent your deepest feelings
let your anger become known !

I understand where you were going with this and I agree that some do leave for reasons that could be solved by just not listening to those that don't understand. We don't know why some write what they do, but that is what makes us all interesting...or not!. Good write and good luck in the contest, The Shaker

hmmmm. I like this. thought provoking, strong wording, a bit pointed, point well taken. it is short of the 30 line minimum limit, but I'm a forgiving soul.
I particularly like the first and last verse. Well written.
