Give me strength,
to choose the way,
a destiny,
but nothing more.
The shattered glass,
it lied to me,
cold upon the floor.
The darkest need,
comes over me,
in truth,
a mortal soul.
squeeze the body,
restrict the veins,
until the Ferry Man gets his toll.
Within God's home,
I feel alone,
But in sleep I fade,
this masquerade,
of bone and blade,
a symphony to the throne.
Pretending to proceed,
encased in cacophany,
battled beween you and me.
[Indulgence will win]
the fear,
it preceeds,
this necropolis of dreams,
ascending but not freed,
Here I eternally sleep.
[Indulgence will win]
Pray for me,
Holy Father,
this war has come to an end.
My Friends are gone,
my lover...lost,
alone yet again.
They look to me,
for prophesy,
yet unknown,
this soldier's worn.
I am just another tale,
etched into stone.
This fortress of Jubilee,
holds nothing but me,
a mausoleum for the souls,
I've taken from the Nazarene.
Author notes
Yeah... I was really really inspired by the crusades. don't even really know what made me think of them either..just did.

well this is certainly very creative. You use excellent imagery here, as well as some interesting words. I like the use of cacophany and necropolis. you chose an interesting subject which definitely makes me sit and think about what you have written. rereading it several times, I almost feel like I've slipped back into that time with your imagery.
Well done.
Thanks for your entry and good luck.
