I don't want to wash away, don't make me wash away
The river fades away my color that I wish to stay
Oh yes, the water's nice, I'm sure, it has helped me stay alive
But not connected to the tree, how long do I survive
It's nice not being green and all, not shading children's eyes
But I don't know just where I'll fall, some awkward nice surprise
To fall upon a rock is nice or to fall about the ground
But to fall upon a shore or with water all around
