There is a fork in the road,
leading to nowhere it seems,
but I know better.
I turn on the little side street,
walk about a mile or so,
and there it is,
the perfect view.
Fields and trees as far as you can see,
hills rising and sinking,
Horses and cows,
peacefully enjoying the serenity.
I come here for the quiet,
such quiet,
leaving only me, the wind,
and my thoughts.
Relaxing basking in the sun,
or even in the snow,
sitting on the side,
of that glorious little road.
Author notes
This is a real place, so vividly beautiful.
