The Fellowship

Where are My tired and so confused,
Those misunderstood and abused?
The lonely, misbegotten and ashamed?
They are the ones I will rename.

With your pain you have My heart;
You have My love that never parts.
I see your ache, used for good,
And I will bless as I only could.

Look at your life, with its affliction,
Your hopes abated with restriction.
With My coming they’ll be met;
You’ll see the fellowship we had.

I see your heart like your face,
The race you run, with its pace.
There I am, within each step,
Within each beat, within each breath.

The veil will fall, at My command,
And you will see I held your hand.
The wounds you bore, you will find,
Are dear to Me, for they’re like Mine.

You’ll see your life, with its affliction,
Your hopes met, no hesitation.
With My coming they’ll be met;
You will see our fellowship.

Author notes

"But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead."--Philippians 3:7-11

"For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?"--1 Thessalonians 2:19

"To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."--Colossians 1:27

"Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure."--1 John 3:2-3

    "Consider Him..."

And, though it's from His point of you, that is what you've done here. What encouragement to know that our Lord and Saviour has gone before and KNOWS what we go through!

    Nice one, Big Brother!

This has such an uplifting message. Before I read your author notes, I was thinking to myself that this reminded me of something Jesus would say in the bible to those who need comfort, so I guess you acheived that well! I like the rhyme, I like how well-planned your thoughts have been organized, I love the message, and most importantly, you kept me interested, and I really hate it when I stop half-way through a poem because I'm bored! So thank you for something inspiring!

I'm reminded of the song... It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus... and that's what I keep telling myself when I choose to stay in this world... that one day, it will all be over and done and I won't have to live in this horrible world any longer...

A very good piece Bob. Inspiration at it's best!

sometimes in the midst of troubles it hard to see and feel this I have read this verse so many times for it one of my favorite verse. After two deaths of loved ones my pet had cancer so many other trials and issues.
Where are the tired and confused not saying a word. Those misunderstood and abused not saying a word.
Some times I think I know God and can handle it.
Deep down I know he carried me through so much.
Now I learned to hear God whisper pray for weary do what you can for the least you do for me.
I loved your poems these are thoughts it brought to my mind. I think sometimes it helps to reread the same verse though another eye.

When I wrote this I was wondering why I wrote the first stanza as it is. I realize it's the Lord calling out those who suffer like He did, like a call of encouragement. It's like He's saying, "I know you're out there..."

Sometimes a fresh perspective is needed. The Mountain of God is so big, it's edifying to hear about someone else's vantage point. We who know the Lord all see that Mountain, but we all see it from a different point of view, because He shows Himself that way: according to our need.

      A very big God indeed!

      God bless!

I could never get tired of someone telling me I'm a good poet.

It doesn't happen that often...at least in my view.

I came to AP to share things like this. I know many here don't know what it means the one true God. I seek to whet one's appetite for such a thing.

      Thanks!

      God bless!

The "flow" you refer to, you know its Source.

This came to me in 15 minutes. That usually means that Source had to get the message out to His kids.

This love letter from our knowable God illustrates that He is to become Lord of our 'inner universe', the heart and body. The intimacy flows out of each word and line to prevent escape from this magnificent and incomparable bond. It throws dogma and doctrine into a place of secondary strength only available to our minds by first, the heart that yields to it.

The end ties all of what the author (you) believe with unbridled passion.

Beautiful piece, fellow believer. I see the hope of the scribe coming through.

    *Suggestion*
I'd leave out as much punctuation as possible so
that there are no bricks in the road of reading.

"See our fellowship". That merges the senses so differently. 'Know' could be a way of seeing, either.

The wounds you bore, you will find,
Are dear to Me, for they’re like Mine.
    whoah.

humbling and simply brought to faith's ideal scope!

      Great!

Keep reading your Bible; walk with the Lord.

When you sin, confess to Him.

      When compelled, talk about Him.

      When confused, read that Book.

When you're thankful, praise His name.

Feeling condemned? He took your blame.

In time, you will have a better, deeper understanding of what I wrote about here.

He didn't say it would be easy. He said it would be worth it.
