I’ve violated my promise
Not to proceed.
I didn't do any of the things
I agreed to.
Imprisoned by circumstances.
I didn't resist,
just let trivial matters sap
my vigour,
my life.
I’ve punished myself with silence.

Ah..once again..you have summed up your self through the deepest images of the life bringing the surprising element to understand the truth of yours..just a wonderful write you did..well done...

Given the limited word usage, you did an outstanding job here poet. I felt these words. You opened the poem with gripping thoughts. To "violate a promise" to ourselves leaves us shrouded in shame.
We make deals with ourselves and go back on them constantly. You captured that with skill in the second line.
"Imprisoned by circumstances."
What a heavy-laden experience. I know...
The last line makes me know that now is the time to confront, make amends, and forgive myself.
Excellent! Thank you for this intense entry and I wish you the best in this challenge.
Much Love & Respect ♥

Ah, that's a strong topic to discuss, I think. You did a good job with it too! I really like how you started off with your thoughtful-ness (engaging to me!) and I was sad when you finished this poem so soon! I was hoping you'd go into more detail, since I liked where you were going with this! That's okay though--I still enjoyed reading!
