Down By The River

I go down by the river to sit and think,
When life does not seem to be going my way.
The days when I just have got to be alone,
Because I've ran out of the words to say.

It is cool and damp down there,
And there's a log that is just right for me.
The crickets are singing happily,
And there is water as far as the eye can see.

The amazon is the largest river around,
And it's sheer size makes me feel so small.
That is a nice relief for a bad day,
When my problems seemed to be so tall.

So, when life crowds in a little too close,
The whole world knows where I'll be.
Down a little path in the weeds,
Sitting on a log is where you'll find me.
