Dial tone

"I'll be home tommorrow"
"... but tommorrow never comes,
the sun shines over the hills,
and tommorrow comes creeping through the valley,
but it's not really tommorrow just another today"

And today
has been today too long
perhaps the today before today was intended to be a yesterday
...It wasn't.
but maybe, just maybe it was suppose to be

Author notes

The other day i wasn't able to deliver a monolouge to a friend of mine, and she said it was fine i'd get it tommorow, and without thinking i said "tommorow never comes, just another today." and since then i've been thinking about that sentance and just how true it is. It's been eating at me and i long for an adventure.

the idea is that someone is talking to a lover far away who claims to return soon, then hangs up before the other person speaks, so our protagonists sad monologue is delivered to the dial tone
