Chaos firmly grounded before me
as deepening monochromatic
shades of ebony insensitivities
are burrowing closer
anxiously awaiting to greet fear at the core
stirring nightmares
within adrenaline heavy shivering skin
nothing haunts the psyche
conceiving hell
from the victims own twisted design

a very good take on that prompt. also the usage of the words are delightful enough to make me reread this again and again....
hehe, love this.

Exquisite use of language here, I really enjoyed reading this.
But regarding the word "monochromic", it's generally written as "monochromatic", isn't it? Or have you chosen to write it that way deliberately?
Either way, a fantastic piece.
Best of luck in the contest.
