Amber trail of leaves
swirls through autumn’s breeze,
woven basket placed beside
an oak whose roots grasp earth
cherished for decades,
hands place acorns inside
between laughter and gossip,
grows the circle of bounty
gathered from Mother Earth,
as winter’s meals are carried home
beneath a crimson sunset,
that sets too soon.

Wonderful Depiction!
Love the picture you pen here of warmth and coziness! This is one of my fav seasons & you did it justice.
Glad you won a trophy.

-
thumbs up
starkly beautiful thank you -
"roots grasp earth/cherished for decades". Very nice, also the hands placing acorns inside between laughter and gossip.
Congrats on your HM.

I love this scene of gathering the acorns which I know were a valuable crop to many Indian tribes - it's very tangible with its woven basketry and roots. "between laughter and gossip" the gathering goes on as the "circle of bounty" expands... this speaks of a wonderful harvest celebration, joyous yet tinged with regret that it all goes by too quickly.

A grand moment in the year!
-
This is vivid and sweet.

-
Wonderful descriptive imagery employed in the delightful word picture. Well Done.
