and so it was

the earth was a canvas
where children
spread the joy and laughter
of one hundred million faces
in one place
each unique in it's own way

with their warm mittens
and wool scarves
they would become as gods
and they would celebrate
and sing the highest praises
of the man with no eyes
for he was good

but as the day was long
and the man began to fade
into the fires
of the ominous orange globe
so did the children

for there was a mighty castle
that could reach to the heavens
just waiting to be realized
within one hundred million minds

What an amazing expansion on the prompt.
You never cease to amaze me.
And yes, I know I use that word a lot.

This is really different. It is amazing to see the different directions the same quote takes people to. Thank you for entering.
