The Old Man and the Witch

The old mans haunting breath
Gives out ghostly wisps
As he looks out his porch
He stands there looking frightened
As little kids go walking up his door
Growling, the old man glares at the children up ahead
Looking up the kids ask the question of their soul
"Trick or treat?"
The man smiles sickly at the little children and yells
"GET OFF OF MY LAWN YOU LITTLE PUNKS!"
Grabbing his broom he chases off the booger nosed kids
"Those little brats don’t know when to stop their act"
He says glaring at the children’s parents accusingly
Well I guess not all witches have to be in costume
Because the scariest one of all
Was the old man who held the broom in the moonlights gloom.

I think I had a little old man like this when I was a kid. He lived two blocks down and all the kids were afraid of him. Once his wife died we found out he was actually quite nice; seemed she hated children. Go figure! I think you did really well with this piece.
