There once lived a handsome man,
Who had the pick of his desire.
Yet his passion held its demand
For an odd one with fervent fire.
This man once loved an ugly woman,
Who had a wart* on her nose.
His passion left him assuming,
She would take his rose.
She resisted for many a day,
And yet, he still persisted.
Then like a fall of warming sunrays,
She no longer resisted.
So she became his betrothed,
Much to the shock of many.
His love, to her, was like a robe,
Displaying colors aplenty.
In time it seemed his love’s comfort
Left her feeling secure.
In spite of the fact about her wart,
She saw herself lovely and pure.
“I have no wart; I’m fair of face,”
She often said to others.
“I have, I say, my own grace.”
Her heart, for her, so fluttered.
So the public was amazed;
Not of her, but her man.
It seemed they knew the source of grace,
For one so physically damned.
Many respected the handsome man.
Many were just as offended.
When he appeared, many would stand,
While others had curses to render.
Yet the man took his bride,
While all would simply wonder.
Many of these stood by his side,
In spite of this loving blunder.

Great poem! So full of metephoric scent that it reads so smooth and flows well. I love how you show the bride of Christ as us and giving the feel as to how we look from the inside.

wow
I love this one. It speak of how to look for the soul and not what the person looks like. To find the person within and love someone for the good and bad. -
It is easier to over look a wart
Than goship, lies, thieves, and unfaithful cheaters,...mac

well i don't understand why you are the wart. i do see a correlation between Christ and His bride- us. or it's simply a wonderful love story. anyway, you are not the wart- just my bratty brother! love ya! God bless you always
