Leavin’ the world right behind me

Talking and markin’ out our names
On the trees where all can see

Dancing and singin’ all the songs that we know
When I first saw you I knew there was something

I know you know it cause I see in your
Eyes and I think we should go
Off to the music where we can be
Dreamin’ and a dancin’ all the night through

The way you treat me always makes me smile

i really like this, despite the fact it is about love it seems to have a hint of sadness to it, i like that there seems to be a southern dilect to the character, for lack of a better word, in this piece, it helps to bring the whole thing to life. as i'm re-reading it i am wondering if this about a loved one going off to war, leaving the person he loves behind to go fight for is country, while the other person wants him to stay but knows he has to go? i like that end is so positive you know that the other person will be all right because you love them so much, great poem!

mmm idk about that...this poem is still the dream of someone. i don't think i'll have someone in my life like this for a long time...at least i can still hope for one right? and my heart is slowly gettin mended...i just have to force myself to forget him more and more every day...it hurts...
