midnight meets me
weighing wishes wait
i only have minutes
to escape
the pressure builds
like a shaken can of my favorite drink
all i care about is whats inside
the characters of nightmares
the mental stability of an inpatient
waiting to be shot up with some
Thorazine and sleep for days
the wanting to peel skin back
and play peek-a-boo with
hearts and hands and heads
when the haze clouds mind
and muscles mere rubber bands
that are loose and laying all over the place
i realize
this must be one of them times
where dream and reality
crash cars
and roll over a hundred times
before resting on the edge
of insanity

Nice. I like where you took the prompt. It certainly creeped me out some, all those body parts laying around. Good job

Hehehe...unlucky 13 it is, eh? (Sorry, I couldn't resist).
"The witches took my soul, the vampires took my eyes, the werewolves took my flesh, and midnight swallowed my cries."
