I sit on the edge of a pond,
With the stars glittering around me.
The bats and dragonflies flit in circles
And I cannot enjoy it.
My flowing below-the-waist hair
Flows to the ground under me.
It sparkles with my diamond jewelry,
Glimmering in the moonlight.
My face is buried in my lap
With my arms around my head.
My tears haven't stopped yet,
And I don't expect them to soon.
This moonlight reminds me of things in my life
That I have a hard time dealing with.
So every night I come here
To think about those events.
Sitting here on this beautiful tiny shore,
I get to think and plan
Of what I shall do next.
It helps me live through the next day.
I have to contemplate of what will happen
And what my reaction will be.
The moon, oh way up above
Seems to speak to me the answers.
It tells me how to have fun,
And so everyday my face is shining with laughter.
It tells me how to love,
And so I have been hurt.
I ask the moon, oh way up high
Why have you told me to love?
It only replies with a simple sentence,
"Because you were happy with him at your side."
Author notes
Well, this kinda went in an interesting direction. Not exactly towards Daniel, but I was thinking about him when I wrote this, so yeah... Hope you enjoyed.
