harlequin heartache

being a marionette
breed from a fornication
with grief
and sheathed
by a sloppy grin
creates a universal
comedic tradgey

be it human tomfoolery
masqurading to
a jest's trumpet
or a contemptuous fetish
lounging against
a courtesan's laughter

I march
through it all
and sleep to dream
another day

Author notes

harlequin heartache is my title prompt.

Thanks!

Like this very much, thought provoking, is the "march through it all" and dreaming real, or just another play of the puppet master? Great take on the prompt!! Geo

I like how despite it all there is a measure of endurance and hope to dream yet another day.
